Blog Post #3: Due Monday, September 29
Dear Students: At your request, your next blog post will be about exercise and health. This is one of my favorite topics too. Please talk about this topic, and use these questions as a guide:
1. What do you do to stay healthy?
2. Do you eat healthy foods? If so, what kinds?
3. Do you exercise? Do you enjoy exercising?
4. What kind (s) of exercise do you do?
I will eventually post a comment also.
Thanks,
Diana
Well, I've been thinking about this subject a few months, in fact, since I did some medical exams and saw not satisfied results for my age. So, I had been doing runs before I came to U.S., I used to run seven kilometros a day, five days a week, and so it was really intense and I liked. Running makes me feel more energetic and ready for the day but since I arrived I cant start my routine of exercises because I haven't bought the clothes and shoes for run yet. For now, I just try keep my diet with natural food as salad, fruits and others healthy foods, but is really hard when you have to cook your meal and do a lot of other things. I always think is easier if I just buy a fast food or something already done, but I resist to cook my own meal because maybe it is healthier.
ReplyDeletewooow Giulia. I am proud of you. seven km that means you have high fitness. today there is a marathon in NYC if you have your run shoes definitely you'll able to run there :)
DeleteYes, I agree that 7 km. is impressive! Since that's been difficult to do here, what kinds of exercise do you do instead?
DeleteAt moment I am nothing doing any exercise, but I am pretending start run when I get my appropriate shoes. And thank you for the information Ghadah but I couldn't participate of the marathon, even if I want do it, I have to prepare myself and definitely I am not prepared at this moment hehe
DeleteTo do sport is the best important way for keeping healthy .We often hear people say that life exist in sports. There are different kinds of sports that can strengthen different parts of our body. They not only help build nice figure ,but also make our body strong enough to resist the attack of diseases.Through sport extra fat is burned out and the toxin is removed from our body. Moreover, after doing sport people will feel happier and more comfortable.Of course ,I keep doing exercise every week,I enjoy jogging .Actually ,the second things to keep healthy is to eat healthy foods.Do not eat fried food and greasy foods too many. You can eat vegetables and fruits instead of drinking soda juice that have a lot of sugar inside and make body fatter.
ReplyDeleteI surely agree with your points about exercise and diet, and I try to do both. I don't jog, though. Too hard!

It's important to stay healthy because without good health, we nearly can do anything. I think there are several ways to stay healthy. First, having a good health eating habbit is very important. we should eat healthy meals every day instead of junk food, like vegetables, fruits, seafood and kinds of soups. We'd better eat slowly. Second, we should have good habbits, such as having enough sleep so don't stay up too late, wash our hands in time, brush our teeth at least twice every day, drink enough water, don't smoke and so on. Third, doing exercise also is a vital thing. For me, I like doing rope skipping when I was young. And I also like climbing mountains during the weekend while I was in high school. Last but not least, it's very important to laugh every day.
ReplyDeleteYou mention the exercises you did as a child. What kind of exercise do you do now?
DeleteI agree with you about laughing as being a great stress reliever.

This is the hardest question! However, I used to eat extremely nasty healthy food in midweek because I knew I will ruin my diet in the weekend, when I was in my country. Also 5 years ago, I broke my shoulder in a gym and I still suffer from that for this reason I have to take physiotherapist “Willy nilly” also I used to work around 12 hour each day expect in weekend. I didn’t have enough time to do any exercise. After I arrived to NYC my lifestyle completely changed. I started to cook delusions healthy food almost every day and we have just have one free day in a week we go out and enjoy our time in a restaurant also I have been taking Pilates and surf classes twice a week. In addition, if we have a time my husband and I we go out and run around Astoria Park. I’m so glad we changed our lifestyle
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean by "physiotherapist willy nilly"? Do you mean "physiotherapy all the time"? 2 more questions: "nasty healthy food"? "delusions healthy food"? Please clarify.
DeleteI like your description of your new lifestyle. It sounds great!
Diana
I mean I have taken physiotherapy three times a week even though I didn't want to go to the clinic the doctor came to my parents house.
Deletethe taste of food. Because I was subscribed with diet center to deliver my meal to my work and I didn't like the taste of food
Now it is my turn to talk about diet and exercise.
ReplyDeleteAs for diet, I agree with all that has been said. I try to eat mostly fish, chicken, vegetables and fruit. However, I like desserts too much!
As for exercise: my two favorites are swimming and Pilates. I try to go swimming every Saturday and go to a Pilates mat class every Sunday. Fortunately, I can do both in my neighborhood. Both are great for weight control and stress control.
I thought I had already sent this, but can't find it. I hope you don't get it twice!
See you all tomorrow,
Diana

ReplyDeleteI love desserts too! But I try to keep my desires controlled. I think is not a problem eat delicious sweets sometimes. I also think is great that you can do different things to keep healthy. You are a motivation and a example for me.
ReplyDeleteGiulia, thank you for your very kind words!
